To be very honest here, I thought I was going to be reading an outright porn book, just look at the cover and title does that not just scream erotica/porn???

But boy was I wrong, what I got was a rather intense look into how a wonderful happy marriage can crumble. How Half-truths, miscommunication, resentment and just simple misunderstandings can tear two people that love each other above all else apart.

Well I loved this, thought the characters were wonderfully flawed, and very real.
The only one problem I had was at one point right in the middle of the drama before part 2 I was desperate to get Deans POV I was so glad we got to hear a bit of his voice!!

“Since the day we met, I haven’t wanted anyone but you, never looked at another woman, never thought about one. It’s always been you Olivia.”

“I want to learn how to trust a man. I wanted to know what true, physical pleasure felt like. I wanted to find the courage to be vulnerable on my own terms, as my own choice.”

“You’re so damn strong, Liv, and you don’t even realize it. I’m the one who’s always had to show people I’m successful, an achiever, the best at everything I did. I’m the one who’s always been a goddamn egotist. A groveler. And you…you’re the first person who’s ever…Christ, Liv, sometimes the way you look at me makes me feel like I can hang the fucking moon.”

Well where to start! How about first off, this book is just as good as the first and well I loved it.
This picks up almost right from where the first book left off, only maybe a few hours later which is a shame, I really really wanted to see the reaction from the cliff hanger in book one, but oh well it is still great!!

Like the first book this is about Liv and Dean, two people that love each other so much, but find that even with a love as strong as theirs, it doesn't take much for something to rip them apart. Both these books are a great testament on how communication, honesty and trust are what really keeps a marriage together, and when one of those things fail, like a house of cards the rest will tumble down.

It is hard to review this book for me. I am reviewing this for my blog and I really don’t want to go into too much detail because a lot of people that follow me haven’t read the first book and I really don’t want to give away any spoilers.

But what I will say this is just as powerful as the first book, we see how a happy loving marriage can come in to question after simple misunderstandings, miscommunication and half-truths.

This one is different from the first, this time we see both Dean and Liv’s POV trough out the book, something that was missing from the first one. This book has so many ups and downs and it’s not often a book has me in tears but this one did I wasn’t all ugly crying but I leaked a little bit. It was emotional and at times heart wrenching. I just love Nina Lane she has a beautiful writing style.  It’s believable and I can really see and feel what she is trying to say.

“Right now I want you naked against me," Dean says. "I want to wake up cold because you’ve hogged all the blankets. I want to feel your leg between mine, your hair in my face, your arm flung across my chest. I want to find myself on the edge of the bed in the morning because you’ve sprawled all over the mattress. I want to sleep with you.”

“Silence falls, pulsing with the truth of what I’ve learned and what Dean has yet to acknowledge. Our relationship, our love, cannot and will never be perfect. It will, however, always belong only to us in all its flawed, intense beauty. Perfect in its very imperfection.”

“You just always wanted to give me the safety I never had," I tell him. "But life isn't safe, no matter how hard you try to make it that way.”

All I can really say now is roll on book three!!
